Yesterday you joined with hundreds of Minute Mafia prayer warriors for the release of Mrs. Park, an underground church leader who was arrested last week for sharing the gospel. Your prayers were answered! We just learned from our contacts this morning that she has been released.

The Hwangs, a Chinese Alpha Relief operative family, entered North Korea this week for legitimate business. As usual they stayed with the Parks, family friends who are also leaders of an underground church. Unfortunately the wives of both families were arrested for sharing the gospel. After being held for three days, Mrs. Hwang was released and allowed to return to her family in China.

Our contact writes,
“She (Mrs. Park) took the rap herself so others wouldn’t have to take, but she’s been through the meat grinder, still being held. Next couple of days are critical in how she will be sentenced. Please alert all concerned to prayer.”

Please pray:

• For Mrs. Park’s physical, emotional and spiritual safety, and that her sentence is light
• That those who are working on her release are given the wisdom and resources necessary to make it happen quickly
• For comfort and strength for the Hwang and Park families

Alpha Relief operatives found 14 abandoned children (ages 7 to 15) in the hills of North Korea this week.

The operatives write,

“We are assisting to care for them. We have helped to provide clothing and continue to provide food daily. They are living in rough conditions using a tarp we provided to give them some shelter from the elements. With 14 of them there is nowhere to place so many. With the weather cooling quickly this will become a major problem very soon. It’s dangerous for them.”

Please pray:

• For the children’s safety and that the weather holds until a long-term shelter is found
• For God to provide enough food for the operatives previous commitments plus the needs of the children
• That each of these kids comes to know Jesus in a personal way

Your prayer and financial gifts are a tremendous blessing. A Bible School in the Yunnan province of China recently received your gifts and wanted to share their appreciation.

“We have prayed for a long time asking God for Study Bibles…God is listening
to these prayers and He is our provider.

• That these Bibles accomplish the purposes God intended
• A blessing over the Bible School students and their instructors, for encouragement, endurance and strength
• For the churches in the area of the school, that they are fruitful and multiply

Ji Young was taken across the North Korean border and sold to a Chinese farmer three years ago, after which she was abused. Though she was watched very closely, Ji Young managed to escape from her husband/captor recently. Once in hiding, she turned to the God she has learned to trust and He brought her to the attention of an Alpha Relief rescue operative.

Ji Young desperately wants to escape to South Korea, but as our operative writes, “She has a child and doesn’t know what to do with that (situation) yet.”

Please Pray:

• That Ji Young is not discovered by Chinese or North Korean authorities
• Ji Young is reunited with her child, and for the child’s protection in the mean time
• For an escape plan to South Korea to be successfully formulated and implemented
• That ample funding is available for Ji Young’s relocation to South Korea
