God Goes With You

When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another.
Matthew 10:23

Alpha Relief partners have recently discovered four new camps on the Thailand/Burma border. They write, The (Burmese) refugees are incredibly desperate and in the area we visited there are 677 people! These are families that have fled in the last 1-7 months from Burma. They are begging for rice and other foods and supplies as they have virtually nothing.

Please Pray:

  • For enough resources to feed, clothe and shelter the families
  • That any family members who became separated as they fled their villages, find the camps and are reunited with their loved ones
  • Deuteronomy 31:6 over the believers:
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
  • For those who have not yet been saved. Pray that in the course of this ordeal they see and hear of God’s love for them through the willingness of others to provide for their immediate needs.

Your Word is Truth

“Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.”
John 17:17

At great risk, Alpha Relief partners successfully smuggled 18,000 North Korean dialect Bibles into the country this month. They have been handed off to an underground distribution network, and soon will make it into the hands of underground church members and new Believers.

The Alpha Relief partners specifically asked for your prayers:

  • For the successful distribution of all the Bibles
  • That the authorities eyes are blinded to the presence of the Bibles
  • For God’s blessing over those who are sharing the Gospel message
  • That tens of thousands of North Koreans come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior
  • Isaiah 55:11 “(My word) will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”

Protect Them

I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one. (John 17:11)

Young-chul and Ja-hoon are in hiding. These young North Korean boys were recently discovered by Alpha Relief operatives in China who write, “They are being cared for by believers and are in hiding.” The boys managed to escape the fate faced by 13 of their friends, who were captured by Chinese police and were forcibly repatriated to North Korea.

Please Pray:

  • For the continued safety of Young-chul and Ja-hoon
  • That the boys accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior as they watch the Gospel lived out through their nurturing caregivers
  • That the boys remain concealed from the eyes of the Chinese and North Korean secret police
  • For North Korean children who escape into China to find safe, Christian homes

Let My People Go

This is what the LORD says: “Let my people go, so that they may worship me.”
Exodus 8:20b

When Chin-sun’s sister, Min, was arrested earlier this year for her underground church activity, their mother and Min’s husband and son were also sentenced to political prison camps (to erase their entire family). Chin-sun fled to China and is now a high profile escapee, sought by Chinese and North Korean secret police. Chin-sun has determined that it has become too dangerous to stay in China, and so she needs to relocate to South Korea.

Please pray

  • That Chin-sun remains steadfast in her faith as she moves away from her beloved family
  • For the protection and success of Chin-sun and Alpha Relief operatives during the relocation journey
  • That Alpha Relief operatives are able to locate Min and her imprisoned family, and that they may be freed and reunited with Chin-sun
